16-YEAR-OLD ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH MURDER (8/16/2006) NEW HAVEN – Police made an arrest this afternoon in a deadly shooting that occurred on Saturday, 29 July. Thaddeus Rout, 16, of New Haven, was charged with murder and criminal possession of a firearm. He is being held on a $3 million bond. Rout was in jail on unrelated charges at the time of his arrest. Police believe that the incident stemmed from a fight that occurred earlier that evening on the New Haven Green during which Rout was assaulted. He later traveled to the Hill neighborhood and fired at a group of individuals. Justus Suggs, 13, of New Haven, was shot and later died at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
